This position requires expertise in SAP HANA administration, database management, and a strong understanding of SAP technologies. The Senior SAP HANA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of SAP HANA systems. Responsibilities: SAP HANA Administration: Install, configure, and maintain SAP HANA databases in a multi-tier landscape for SAP S/4, SLT, Fiori, BW etc. applications Perform system copies, refreshes, and upgrades for SAP HANA environments. Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Monitor and optimize the performance of SAP HANA databases. Conduct performance tuning and implement best practices for optimal system response. Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies for SAP HANA databases. Conduct regular backups and ensure data integrity. High Availability and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions for SAP HANA. Conduct regular testing of disaster recovery procedures. Security and Authorization: Implement and manage security policies for SAP HANA databases. Ensure compliance with security standards and conduct regular security audits. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve issues related to SAP HANA performance, connectivity, and data consistency. Must have ability to deep-dive into the DB side to troubleshoot and drive solutions In-depth understanding of SAP application schema setup, security, audit etc. of the HANA DB Collaborate with other teams to address cross-functional issues. Data Modeling and Design: Collaborate with SAP developers and analysts to design and optimize data models in SAP HANA. Ensure efficient data storage and retrieval. Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts for automating routine SAP HANA tasks. Implement monitoring solutions to proactively identify issues. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for SAP HANA configurations, processes, and procedures. Provide training and knowledge transfer to junior team members. Collaboration: Work closely with SAP Basis, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure seamless integration. Collaborate with project teams on new SAP HANA implementations and enhancements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5-10 years of experience in SAP HANA administration and engineering. In-depth knowledge of SAP HANA architecture and best practices. Strong database administration skills (SAP HANA, SQL, etc.). Experience with SAP HANA performance optimization and tuning. Knowledge of high availability and disaster recovery concepts. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Scripting and automation experience (Python, Shell, etc.) is a plus. Knowledge of new dimension products like SAP BTP and platforms like AWS/Azure/Google Strong communication and collaboration skills.
