Our Fortune 500 client is looking for a Cloud Data Architect to work on their project based out of Austin, TX. Job title: Cloud Data Architect Location: Austin, TX /Remote Duration: 12+ Months Job Description: The Cloud Data Architect will provide strategic guidance in the development process, make technical decisions regarding solutions and explain how they will impact the organization. Cloud Data Architect will be responsible for: Provide services in relation to data modeling, data integration, data warehousing, data governance, and data security Develop migration strategies from on-premises databases to cloud-native database technologies Develop, update and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support changing business requirements Design and implement data architectures that enable efficient data storage, retrieval and analysis Ensure data integrity, security, and performance for all databases Design and implement data integration solutions to enable seamless dataflow across systems Collaborate with cross functional teams to implement cloud-based data integration solutions Perform database optimization, capacity planning and performance monitoring Provide expertise with data migration and data archival in AWS cloud Provide expertise on AWS Cloud database infrastructure Design and implement high availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize database downtime for planned/unplanned outages Perform database tuning, benchmark techniques, database sharding, table partitioning, horizontal/vertical scaling, user load, identification/measuring bottlenecks, system optimization Leads and ensures HHSC best practices and methodologies are applied to the design, deployment, and operations in the cloud. Supporting DevOps functions to best utilize cloud resources with software configuration management and continuous integration tools. Other duties as assigned. Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, engineering, or management information systems is preferred. Certification: Cloud Solutions Architect Certification Cloud Infrastructure Certifications Required Experience: Required 12 years Experience with data modeling, data integration, data warehousing, data governance, and data security. Required 12 years Experience developing migration strategies for on-premises databases to cloud-native database technologies. Required 12 years Experience developing, updating and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support changing business requirements. Required 12 years Experience designing and implementing data architectures that enable efficient data storage, retrieval and analysis. Required8 years Experience designing and implementing high availability and disaster recovery solutions to minimize database downtime for planned/unplanned outages. Required 8 years Experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL in HA deployments and Expertise in data storage. Required 12 years Experience migrating Oracle RAC/Exadata infrastructure to a public cloud environment. Required 12 years Experience designing and implementing effective and efficient data models. Required 12 years Experience with database performance tuning benchmark techniques, database sharding, table partitioning, horizontal/vertical scaling, user load, identification/measuring bottlenecks, system optimization. Required 10 years Hands-on experience with Agile development, Program management/project management experience for large cloud migrations. Required 8 years Hands on experience with database services like RDS, RDS Proxy and other Data Services. Required 8 years Experience with replication of databases and other types of data. Required 8 years Experience transforming data into cloud native storage and other formats. Required 8 years Experience using standard concepts, practices, and procedures of cloud technology, including Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Required 8 years Hands-on experience with adjacent technology areas including Security, Identity / Access Management and Monitoring. Preferred 8 years Hands-on experience as a platform engineer for Cloud platform Preferred 6 years Hands-on experience with CI/CD methodology Preferred 6 years Hands-on development experience for mobile and tablet platforms Preferred 6 years Experience with APIs design and implementation.
