About the Job: This position oversees a portfolio of ongoing projects within the Tiger Teams initiative, focusing on the analysis of state UI systems and process challenges. The Tiger Teams collaborate with states to identify opportunities for improvement, providing actionable recommendations and allocated grant funding to achieve near-term impacts in the areas of Equity, Accessibility, Timeliness & Backlog, and Fraud Prevention & Detection. Additionally, the candidate may contribute to establishing a Project and Portfolio Management Office (PPMO) for the Department of Workforce Development. Daily responsibilities include assisting in project scoping, resource identification, work breakdown structure, and budget management for the broader Tiger Teams initiative. The candidate will also be responsible for overseeing the ongoing aspects of project management, including scope management, resource identification, budget oversight, work breakdown, requirements gathering, scheduling, and reporting for individual projects. This position entails a one-year commitment for the current Tiger Team engagement, with potential extensions. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are as follows: Oversee multiple projects to ensure proper management towards successful conclusion. Manage large enterprise-type projects that involve multiple internal stakeholders or contracted resources. Develop, Monitor, and maintain project plans. Define users and project team members roles and responsibilities on the project. Define user requirements, deliverables, and approvals. Coordinate and monitor activities of all stakeholders to ensure timelines and budgets are met. Communicate project status to management and project stakeholders. Mentor and provide guidance to lower-level Project Managers including recommending training and experience. What We Are Looking For: You're an ideal candidate if you have a BS degree in Business or Computer Science and/or 5+ years of applicable experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus. What You Will Need For Success: BS Degree in Business or Computer Science and/or 5+ years of applicable experience. Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus. 5+ years of experience in project management Experienced in project discovery and the ability to understand and manage requirements. Experience with SAFe. Experience working through a procurement process. Experience and ability to manage team impediments. Experience creating and managing project charters. Experience with Jira. Thorough knowledge of project cost management, benefit analysis, risk management, funding, and estimation of resources. Ability to draft statements of work for a attaining resources. Ability to calculate and report return on investment. Thorough knowledge and application of project management theories and practices. Extensive knowledge of the information systems development life cycle, information technology, project tools and approaches to development and implementation. Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft products: Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, Project, and Visio Plus Microsoft Teams. Ability to lead project teams by encouraging and influencing others to perform. Ability to communicate effectively.
