They must be in Houston Duration of Contract: 6 months contract-to-hire Visa : GC or USC Anticipated Start Date: Mid-January 2024. Here is the job description - This is for CenterPoint energy on the north side of Houston. . Position Description Threat and Vulnerability Analyst Key Responsibilities- Run day to day operations of vulnerability scanning, reporting and remediation efforts Coordinate, perform and document cyber security vulnerability scans Customize reports on vulnerability findings to facilitate remediation projects Collaborate with asset owners and the business for timely remediation and patch coordination Produce vulnerability metrics to demonstrate remediation effectiveness and how risk is being reduced Ensure that vulnerability management Service Level Agreements are defined, tracked, and met Coordinate with Cyber Threat Intelligence and Incident Response to identify and remediate gaps Experience 3+ years of hands-on experience in threat and vulnerability management, web application security, or cyber threat intelligence Experience with large scale environments corporate environments 3+ years using vulnerability scanners-- Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, etc. Rapid7 experience a plus. Just one of the scanner experience will do. Skill Requirements Very strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to effectively communicate to all levels of staff up to executive-level management, customers (internal and external), and vendors. A broad and thorough understanding of cyber-security threats, vulnerabilities, security controls and remediation strategies Strong technical knowledge in information technology, to include hardware, networking, protocols, files systems and operating systems.
