Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Denver, Colorado Remote

Consultant must be local to CO

Description:

The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to defined timelines and within the allocated budget. The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that business and end users are consulted with and their input garnered for the project at hand.

Responsible for assisting agency executive management, division directors, and information technology (IT) staff and leading project tasks, resources, including State personnel and deliverables. 

Use appropriate project management tools, reports, templates, mentoring, training, and coaching to IT project teams. 

Work directly with agency staff, as well as vendors and, when necessary, other state agencies in fulfilling and carrying out the requirements of assigned IT projects. 

Utilize project management best practices, including risk management, quality management, change management, change control and communication.

Manage by providing leadership, collaboration, supervision, training, guidance and support to all IT project team members on assigned projects. 

Lead the effort for ensuring agency compliance with the States project management policies and standards
Establish and maintain processes for managing scope during the project lifecycle, setting quality and performance standards and assessing risk
Develop and maintain partnerships with third-party resources, including vendors and contractor
Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels and escalate issues, as necessary, according to project work plan

Qualifications:

5+ years of project management across multiple platforms and paradigms with agile process management, financial management, resource management, and demand management capabilities
3+ years of experience with running large/complex projects with multiple dependencies
Experience in the public sector and Human Services is a plus
PMP certification is a plus

Technical:

Strong technology affinity and experience, as well as attention to detail
Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, platforms, and technologies (e.g., Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, etc.)
Exposure to and knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC) using Scrum
Familiarity with cloud governance frameworks and best practices

Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets, Draw, ...)
Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP)

Cloud (IaaS/SaaS/PaaS)
