An early response is really appreciated Job Title: z/OS Engineer Location: Memphis TN, Charlotte, NC, Lafayette, LA, New Orleans, LA (Onsite) Duration: Full Time Job Description: Highly skilled z/OS Engineer to contribute to the efficient operation of our mainframe systems. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of IBM's z/OS operating system, along with expertise in Job Control Language (JCL) and mainframe hardware. Responsibilities: - System Configuration:** Configure and maintain z/OS environments, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of mainframe systems. - Troubleshooting:** Diagnose and resolve issues related to z/OS, JCL, and mainframe hardware, providing timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime. - Updates and Patches:** Implement and manage updates, patches, and upgrades to the z/OS operating system, staying current with the latest releases. - Security Management:** Collaborate with security teams to enforce and enhance mainframe security measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies. - Performance Optimization:** Work closely with other IT professionals to identify and implement performance improvements, fine-tuning z/OS configurations for optimal efficiency. - Documentation:** Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for future reference and knowledge sharing. - Collaboration:** Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, database administrators, and network engineers, to ensure seamless integration and alignment of mainframe systems with overall IT infrastructure. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Proven experience as a z/OS Engineer or in a similar role. - Proficiency in z/OS, JCL, and mainframe hardware. - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. - Familiarity with security protocols and compliance standards. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Detail-oriented with a focus on documentation.
