This role requires someone with at least 3 years of professional experience configuring Solar Winds and at least 3 years as a Windows System Admin.  Candidates must be US Citizens and be able to obtain a public trust clearance.

Please do not send any resumes longer than 5 pages and please make sure your candidates know that my client is DMI and this will be working on an FTC project.  This will be the first question Vendor will ask the candidate.  If he/she doesnt have this answer, she  will end the conversation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs administration of SIEM tool, including upgrade/update, monitoring agent status and remediating issues

Monitor and identify unknown IPs, and work with internal teams to resolve resulting issues through identification of hostname and system type

Extensive software skills are required, as well as Internet research abilities and strong communication skills.

Develop proactive monitoring parameters that allow for resolution of potential issues prior to user impact

Maintain Solar Winds and other network monitoring and performance tools

Provide expertise to leverage MIBs, OIDs, and WMI performance counters to diagnose and troubleshoot network and server problems

Review business requirements, build, deploy and improve the monitoring of the WHIT deployed monitoring platforms

Provide expertise to schedule and/or create reporting system reporting system as required

Perform registration, update and/or clean up of new, changed, and/or obsolete elements

Configure alerts

Customize web console and properties, views and menu bards to meet client business needs

Create and maintain maps, including online diagrams of server rooms, MDF and IDFs

Identify the ways in which the monitoring platforms can integrate with other management products

Create and maintain documentation

Define, Monitor and Report on SLAs

Detect and verify Faults

Detect and verify performance issues

Collaborate with operations and application teams

Configure and troubleshoot node for management (SNMP, WMI, etc.)

Escalate identified network and server problem

Build and deploy application monitoring

Solar Winds Certified Professional: SAM or NCM or NPM or SEM or NTA or DPA or OAD.

IAT Level II certified (CompTIA Security+ ce).

Candidate should have 4+ years of hands-on experience in: System Integrator and/or administrator for Solar Winds nodes, users, systems, custom views reports, dashboards, simple/complex alerts and 3rd party on boarding.

Demonstrated advanced diagnostics, analytical, troubleshooting skills.

Knowledge of data communications, local-area networking (LAN), wide-area networking (WAN), servers, appliances, routers, switches, and firewalls.

Network (Layer 2, 3) LAN/WAN knowledge.

Qualifications:

Education and Years of Experience:  

Bachelors degree and 7 years of prior relevant experience or Associates degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience, or a minimum 15 years of prior relevant working experience 

3-5 Years of Experience with configuring SolarWinds

3-5 years of Windows System Administration

10+ Years overall IT Support Experience

Required and Desired Skills/Certifications: 

Security + - Mandatory within 3 months of start

Excellent communication and customer services skills working with organizational executives and VIP customers.

Ability to navigate a highly political environment.

Availability to participate in team 24x7x365 on call roster.

Responsible for ticket tracking and progress reporting within team.

Contributes to client & end customer satisfaction with prompt action and clear communications.

Takes proactive ownership of issues & concerns and sees them through to resolution.

Recognizes & escalates support process inefficiencies and contributes to optimizations.

Collaborates with stakeholders on the process of writing clear and complete tickets.

Excellent organization and communication skills.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Additional Requirements:

Prior Federal government experience

Strong attention to detail with an ability to operate effectively across multiple priorities.

ITIL v3 Foundations or better

Knowledge of extranet topologies and DMZ setup

Experience with SolarWinds

Experience understanding network topology.

Min Citizenship Status Required: 

Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Physical Requirements:

Ability to left up to 50 lbs. 

Ability to move equipment in/out of racks
