Position: Data Analyst Location: Philadelphia, PA Hybrid 2 days onsite Duration: 12-18+ Months Visa: Only USC Interview: Video Job Description: 3-7 years as Data Analyst PostgreSQL Athena Redshift AWS or Azure -AWS preferred Cloud Data Analytics team for GDH (Group Data Hub) AWS based cloud data solution (6 scrum teams) DA- part of a scrum team (backfill) Sprint planning, working with stories Work with SM, Data arch, PO, Sys Arch within Scrum Team Data analysis/ mapping - looking at source data sources Hands on data analysis type of work Tech Skills: SQL - proficient/strong, able to write queries AWS- Redshift/ Athena - other cloud solution experience is okay Postgres DB Understanding data models Think critically Strong communication through mapping documents and analysis (written and verbal) Work as part of a team Start immediately- extend beyond contract length and ability to convert down the road Onsite in Philly hybrid preferred- 1-2 x a week with some flexibility - include location in resume Will be onsite in Philly 1-2 day/wk. Sits within the legacy Cigna division (Group Insurance/CGS). Job description: We are looking for a Data Analyst to join one of our Scrum Teams on the Cloud Data Analytics Platform Team. Data Analysts on our team gather and interpret data in order to solve a specific problem and assist in uncovering key insights that lead to better informed and successful decision-making. They are a part of a scrum team but work tightly with Data and System Architects and Product Owners to profile data, map and define transformations of raw data into meaningful curated data which can be used by systems and end users for data integrations as well as for creating statistics and analytical insights. Responsibilities: Using automated tools to extract and gather data from primary and secondary sources Mapping and modeling data which entails choosing what types of data to store and collect, establishing how data categories are related to each other, and working through how the data actually appears. Identifying and interpret corrupted / incomplete data and Preparing reports to communicate patterns or trends in data that could answer the question at hand Developing and maintaining AWS data systems to support new and enhanced ingestion pipelines and data storage for a Lakehouse Architecture pattern Performing analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data in test and production environments Filtering data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code and human error problems Working with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies. Communicating the results of the findings to stakeholders to understand the data-analysis steps with artifacts such as charts, graphs, reports. Technical Skills: Ability to query databases using SQL Knowledge of database systems in PostgreSQL, AWS Athena/S3 Parquet format, Redshift Knowledge of data models in normalized form and star schema Knowledge of Python, Tableau Prep, Tableau, AWS Sagemaker is preferred Understanding concepts of statistics and data science is preferred Other Requirements: Insurance industry experience preferred Critical Thinking - The ability to approach problems logically and make informed decisions based on the data. Attention to Detail - Ensuring accuracy in data analysis and recognizing anomalies or errors in data. Communication strong written and versal skills, being able to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders with reports and presentations Problem-Solving - Coming up with solutions to business problems using data-driven approaches.
