Job Description: The role involves delivering operational support for Oracle 19c databases within an environment encompassing Oracle RAC, Oracle Restart, ASM, Multitenancy, Data Guard, Goldengate, and Oracle Enterprise Manager. Key Responsibilities: Administration and Maintenance: Install, upgrade, and patch Oracle Grid Infrastructure, Oracle database enterprise and standard editions, and related components Perform database backups, restores, and recoveries using RMAN and Commvault Data Protection for Oracle. Manage database space using ASM, ACFS, and filesystems. Migrate databases using Data Pump, RMAN duplicate, transportable tablespaces, and PDB clone. Implement development changes to Oracle schema objects. Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 operational support. Ensure compliance with database policies and procedures. Perform routine maintenance tasks, including reorgs and index rebuilds. Security and Vulnerability Management: Manage database security and access controls. Regularly access security vulnerability reports and apply patches or mitigations in accordance with vendor recommendations. Apply Oracle quarterly release updates Resiliency Participate in DR testing and execution. Configure and maintain standby database with Data Guard. Configure and maintain logical standby using Golden Gate. Utilize flashback technology to return a database and/or database objects to previous state or run queries that return past data. Ensure database availability, reliability, and resiliency in accordance with MAA guidelines. Capacity Planning: Monitor database resource usage. Perform capacity planning at the instance, operating system, and storage levels. Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance using OEM and SQL scripts. Proactively identify and address database performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies by implementing SQL, database, and OS tuning techniques. Implement best practices to enhance database efficiency.
