From: AMIT, SUS [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Position: Business Intelligence Consultant Location: 100% Remote Duration: 6+ Months C2H Client: Boston Medical Center Phone and skype MUST HAVE 10+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE MUST HAVE TABLEAU SERVER AND DESKTOP SQL DATA MODELING RUN MEETINGS/PRESENTATIONS Must Have: - Effective & clear communication o Strong executive presence o Able to run meetings and presentations to all levels within Clearway and well prepared o Including written communication o Not easily flustered extemporaneous speaker - Independent and takes initiative. - Strong Experience with: o Data Preparation (Data Wrangling) o SQL Querying o Data Modeling (within BI Platform) Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server o Dashboard & Visualization creation o Data & Dashboard Publication Pluses: - Experience with Geocoding (via GIS) - Experience with Snowflake - Experience with EasyMorph Desktop (for Data Wrangling) Day to Day: - The Business Intelligence Consultant will have duties and responsibilities in four key areas: o Development o System Administration Support o Governance o Briefings - Normally they would have a supplemental person for data modeling from the warehouse but in their case they are still building out the team, so that will all fall on this person. They will be modeling data for every dashboard that is make it is all very custom. - This is not just a heads down role, it is equally functional - They are looking for someone who can communicate appropriately with executives, give presentations, etc. Development The Business Intelligence Consultant will be responsible for the following: Data preparation: Many of Clearways data sets are created from scratch in Excel or are exported directly from various health systems into flat files. Almost all need to be cleaned and transformed, prior to loading into Business Intelligence. SQL Querying: Clearway uses SQL Server and Snowflake for its ingested data. The Business Intelligence Consultant will be responsible for the creation of any necessary queries or views. Data Modeling: The Business Intelligence Consultant will create, maintain, and modify Tableau data sources, using Physical and/or Logical Modeling methods where appropriate. The Business Intelligence Consultant should also be familiar with Data Blending and Level-of-Detail (LOD) calculations. Dashboard & Visualization Creation: Create, maintain, and modify dashboards and visualizations using user interface (UI) and data visualization best practices. Familiarity with Extracts, Context Filters, Parameters, Sets, Hierarchies, and Dashboard Actions are must-haves. Data & Dashboard Publication: Use Tableau Desktop or Tableau Servers editor to publish data sources and dashboard to Tableau Server. The Business Intelligence Consultant should be familiar with the following: Live-vs-Extract data, Security Groups, Project Permission types, Licenses and Site Role capabilities/limitations, Effective Permissions, and Extract Refresh Schedules. Geocoding: Tableau can display latitude/longitude coordinates, but cannot derive those coordinates from street addresses. A Geographic Information System (GIS) is needed to produce these data points, which are used in a variety of Clearways dashboards. User-Level Security Implementation: Several of Clearways dashboards require user-level security. The Business Intelligence Consultant is responsible for creating the appropriate security models and their integration with aligned data sources. System Administration Support The Business Intelligence Consultant will be responsible for the following: Coordination with the Business Intelligence Servers Site Administrators. Familiarization with Business Intelligence Servers security model and how it impacts dashboard accessibility. Coordination with Business Intelligence Servers Server Administrators. Understand how the infrastructure hosting Business Intelligence Server and Business Intelligence Servers topology affect dashboard performance. Assist the admins with onboarding training and licensing requests. Governance The Business Intelligence Consultant will be responsible for advising Clearway leadership on how Business Intelligence dashboard and data sources can support the organizations governance objectives. Briefings The Business Intelligence Consultant must be comfortable verbally briefing groups of Clearway employees, from individual contributors all the way up to the President. Briefing groups will often include directors and at least one vice president. When verbally briefing, the Business Intelligence Consultant must be able to: Communicate ideas clearly and succinctly Adjust briefing techniques based on audience feedback Answer questions about underlying data, based on understanding of source material Defend visualization choices based on knowledge of industry best-practices In addition to verbal briefings, the Business Intelligence Consultant must possess good written communication skills. The Consultant will frequently respond to emails and instant messages.
