The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process safety management, risk assessment, and compliance within the [specific industry/sector] domain. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive process safety reviews, hazard assessments, and risk analyses to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. Develop, implement, and maintain process safety programs and procedures to mitigate risks associated with operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and improve process safety systems, including Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), and Process Safety Information (PSI) management. Lead and participate in incident investigations, identify root causes, and recommend corrective/preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence. Provide technical expertise and guidance on process safety-related matters to site operations, engineering, and maintenance teams. Facilitate and conduct process safety training sessions to enhance awareness and understanding among employees. Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and advancements in process safety technology to continuously improve safety protocols. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Safety, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering within the [specific industry/sector]. Proficiency in conducting Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), HAZOP studies, LOPA, and other risk assessment methodologies. Strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, etc.) pertaining to process safety (e.g., PSM, RMP). Experience with Process Safety Information (PSI) management and familiarity with various process safety management systems. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex situations and provide effective solutions. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Process Safety Professional - CCPS) will be an advantage.
