| From: Pooja, ICS Globalsoft [email protected] Reply to: [email protected] Position: Systems Engineer Location: Chicago, IL (must be local, willing to come on-site 1-2 times per month) Duration: 12+ month contract (potential to extend) Need 10+ Years Exp About the role: Mid to mid-senior level systems engineer Expected to be a long-term role, renewed on a 6-month interval Currently no expectation this role will be converted to full-time employee Looking for a candidate local to Chicago 40hr work week, normal business hours In-office not required but would prefer someone that can come in once or twice a month Role includes an on-call rotation (1 week duration, rotated across 6 engineers) and some weekend work for patching (1-2 times per year) The personality: Looking for someone ambitious and eager to learn a tinkerer whos not just happy the problem is fixed but wants to figure out how it happened and why Resourcefulness someone that can strike the right balance between leveraging the knowledge of teammates, researching on their own, and escalating an issue Proactivity and persistence keeping work moving, a roadblock remover Strong communicator well-spoken, able to adjust for different audiences and build relationships with teammates and across teams The technical skillset Ive bolded things below that are absolute must-have experience for a candidate to be considered: Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022) configuration, patching, and general support including server roles and features (ADDS, GPOs, DNS, RDS, etc.) Automation Ansible Core 2.13+ and Ansible Automation Platform 2+ preferred, experience automating against REST and/or GraphQL APIs Scripting Python, PowerShell, YAML Linux Server administration (RHEL7/8/9) patching and some configuration Cloud administration (AWS preferred) EC2 and S3 primarily, also able to interact with related network, identity, and security services DevOps Git, pipelines, Ansible module development Software package management Chocolatey, Red Hat Satellite Containers Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS Interviewing process: 2-interviews initial interview scheduled for 60 mins and can be virtual but camera required.
