Role Summary Data is our most important asset. Safe, accurate, and reliable data is critical to supporting our companys needs. The Enterprise Data Governance (EDG) team helps others across the organization by providing tools, guidance and support for data management and quality oversight. By doing this effectively we can minimize risk and ensure the data is available and fit for purpose. As part of EDG, the Government Business Services (GBS) Data Governance team implements data governance and quality best practices to support operational, technological, and analytic efficiencies and enhancements across Medicare and Medicaid lines of business (LoBs). Team responsibilities include, but are not limited to: risk assessment, data standards, data quality monitoring, metadata management, and knowledge management. The Product Owner is a member of a cross-functional GBS Data Governance team and helps translate business needs across multiple data areas into targeted solutions. In coordination with the GBS Data Governance Lead, the Product Owner is responsible for defining the vision, scope, and prioritization of product development and enhancement. The Product Owner also reviews the quality of the product that the team produces and provides expert content/professional leadership on complex assignments and projects. The Product Owner exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives. While focused on providing thought leadership within the Data Governance team, the Product Owner also works on broader projects, which require a deep understanding of the wider business. This individual will work with business, technology, and solution teams across the Medicare and Medicaid LoBs to facilitate data governance program execution and continuous improvement utilizing Agile framework and best practices, including articulation of business value and grooming user stories for prioritization, sizing and sequencing of data governance work. Responsibilities Serves as product owner as part of an Agile team Utilizes data governance knowledge and practices to provide comprehensive consultation to business and IT stakeholders Collaborates with disparate stakeholders to define and prioritize solution needs aligning to business strategies Drives priorities to execution with clear understanding of business value across Medicare and Medicaid lines of business Aggregates team objectives into planned milestones (Program Increments) and creates/publishes roadmap for transparency Facilitates program planning activities for cross-functional Data Governance team, including backlog grooming, retrospectives, sprint or kanban planning, testing and release planning Understands business priorities and converts them to Features, User Stories and Technical Designs to build and prioritize the product backlog for sprint teams Works with team daily in providing inputs on user stories and removing roadblocks Provides timely communication of progress and blockers to stakeholders and Data Governance leadership Reviews quality monitoring data to provide guidance on, and prioritization of, remediation engagement efforts Assists with defining success criteria and metrics for ongoing monitoring and value stories Supports the strategic implementation and development of best practice data governance initiatives Qualifications Bachelors degree or higher 8+ years of professional work experience with combination: oLeadership/management or comparable product owner role in Data Governance, Data Quality, and Data Management Medicare and Medicaid products or equivalent healthcare industry products knowledge / experience Excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills Self-driven and able to function with minimal direction from Manager Has the ability to engage business and data stakeholders to resolve questions or issues Must have the ability to handle multiple and sometimes competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Must be able to think creatively, innovate and flex where needed - quick/adaptive learner and collaborator/team player Must have strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Able to strategize across complex, cross-functional projects and initiatives Experience in Agile Methodology and tools Familiarity with data tools and solutions (e.g., SQL, SAS, Python, Hadoop, Teradata, Snowflake, Tableau, Collibra, Infosphere, Alation, etc.) Core Competencies Drives Engagement Manages Ambiguity Drives Vision and Purpose Organizational Savvy Strategic Mindset Manages Complexity Ensures Accountability Cultivates Innovation Interpersonal Savvy Keywords: information technology golang trade national Arizona Colorado Connecticut Illinois New Jersey New York North Carolina Pennsylvania Tennessee Texas Virginia |
